Father Along

Tempted and tried we're oft made to wonder
Why it should be thus all the day long
While there are others living about us
Never molested tho' in the wrong

Father along we'll know all about it
Father along we'll understand why
Cheer up, my brother live in the sunshine
We'll understand it all by and by

When death has come and taken our loved ones
It leaves our home so lonely and drear
Then do we wonder why others prosper
Living so wicked year after year

All Vain Unless Lord Build It

Unless Lord builds the house,
They labor in vain who build it
Unless Lord guards the city
The watchmen stays awake in vain

It is vain for you to rise up early
It is vain for you to sit up late
It is vain for you to eat the bread of sorrows
For so He gives His Beloved while they sleep

Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy
He who continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing
Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing
Bringing his sheaver with him

Because Lord do good to those who are good and upright in their heart
